Opal Mining (Pty) Ltd (“Opal”) is a 100% black owned company and was established in 2015. As part of its broad based structure, the company comprises women, youth and black industrialists. Opal has a strong leadership base emanating from men and women who come from various sectors and disciplines with vast experience in their relevant fields of work to drive organizational excellence and growth deliverables.

Opal Mining (Pty) Ltd is a member of the Minerals Council of South Africa (MINCOSA). The company’s vision is to participate in the development and transformation of the South African mining sector.  It has diversified interests in mining and will participate in the beneficiation industry as well as the field of alternative energy mix. Its asset interest include coal, vanadium and other PGM’s and will play a significant role in the Independent Power Producer arena.
